Family Dispute Resolution (Mediation)

Family Dispute Resolution (Mediation) is a process whereby an accredited mediator helps separated couples and families reach agreements about children’s matters and property matters. Family Dispute Resolution (Mediation) can provide a less stressful and less expensive way of making lasting agreements.

Separated families who have a dispute about parenting arrangements are required to make a genuine effort (where appropriate) to resolve the dispute through Family Dispute Resolution.

Family Dispute Resolution (Mediation) is strictly confidential and evidence of any communications made throughout will not be admissible in court proceedings, subject to certain exceptions.

Unifam provides Family Counselling and Family Dispute Resolution (Mediation) under the Family Law Act.
